
The 23rd Street Artists’ Market was established by city wide vote by the citizens of Austin in a public referendum in 1971. The market formally opened in 1972. It became an all handmade market in 1976. The market belongs to the artists and the public.
Located on 23rd St. at Guadalupe across from The University of Texas at Austin’s campus and between two large murals, the 23rd Street Artists’ Market is easy to find.
